lyrics

End Part

telomeres are jumping from the cliffs of our chromosomes
they fall into the waves below and drift into the sea
as autumn shed its summer green
a demure downfall of a dream
we nurtured this cathartic plan to make us feel alive
but it's not working this time

to all those words we were told when we were young to pacify our minds:
last night i fell asleep with my arms wrapped around abstractions
and together we espied the utter emptiness of sundries
then i awoke with my feet
so forget the verse that zephyr sings

leaping off the grass, the dew clung to your shoes
to move far away and to dissimilate
and all the other dews do the same
but some choose to return to vapor and move on their way
oh, you and i, we are the same
now we're transitioning, too

here i awoke with my feet, so perhaps nothing was taken
oh, but what absurdity if nothing was taken away
are we trying to be? or just to be released?

thus, you shall think of this world:
a star at dawn, a bubble in a stream
a flash of lightning in a summer cloud
a flickering lamp, a phantom
and a dream

this is the end part where we realize
that everything we were working for
was nothing but a filling of time
well i think i existed, and i think so did you
so the fuck what if i'm fleeting?
everybody else is, too
